Abstract: The occurrence of halo-patterns in the transmission diffraction of electrons by gold-foils was studied. Halo-patterns were observed, not in the case of pure gold-foils but in the case of low carat. Though the critical value of carat could not be found, it would be pretty definitely presumed that the appearance of halos should be affected by the oxidation behaviour of copper atoms included. The experimental data of halos were a little different to those by Corchrane, which had observed using pure gold-foils. So that the origination of halos could not be simply likely discussed.
