Abstract: A part of one long root of sweetpotato which passed through a darkened glass or celluloid pipe can be tuberized artificially by the partial cooling of that part, that is, by the temperature gradient, in the pipe. But the partial moisture supply to a part of the root in the pipe does not generate tuberization at that part.
