Abstract: No difference was noted between the host and non-host plants in the relative amount of ^<32>P-labeled TMV attached to the inoculated leaves. Also no difference was detected between the host and non-host plants in the relative amount of TMV attached to the cell debris of these leaves. These results indicate that TMV particles attach to host plants as well as non-host plants and whether or not TMV infection can be initiated depends either on the other factors or the following stage of infection.
